The Testing Division is one of the four technical divisions of the Ghana Standards Board. It is one of the internationally recognized laboratories in Ghana currently. It derives its mandate from the Standard Decree, NRCD 173, 1973. The Testing Division of the Board is responsible for the chemical, physical and microbiological analysis of product/produce submitted to the Board for analysis. Analyses conducted are for Quality Evaluation, Certification and Destination Inspection purposes. The Division consists of five laboratories.

The service of the Testing Division is mainly in the area of product testing for Food, Chemicals, Cosmetics, Drugs, Engineering and Material based products. Range of service can be classified as follows:
